My first official blog post!
So the last few weeks have been a roller coaster; I started my first year round job, met a bazillion new and fantastic people, been introduced into the SoCal lifestyle, climbed at a bunch of places, and have been living out of the most sick-nasty van EVER!
As earlier posts have said, I (Mason) have taken over Buck’s place on the road, needless to say I have some huge shoes to fill, so go easy on me!

I’ve started my journey in glorious, but recently foggy, SoCal. The people here are fantastic and super welcoming towards me and have been courteous enough to show me around the local bouldering spots. So far I’ve been to Mt. Woodson, Rainbow, and Tramway. All of these areas have really unique and interesting climbing.
We hooked up with Chris Linder and his friend Sami up at Woodson for some night bouldering shenanigans. Earlier that evening, I found out that my grandfather had passed away. I could not have thought of a better way to spend a night honoring him than to be hanging out with these guys celebrating all the great things in life.

Later that week was the 4th of July celebration, needless to say it was fun and full of randomness; everything from sitting in an alley drinking beer and playing Corn-hole, to hucking marshmallows at cops (don’t tell anyone!) after the fireworks had wrapped up. And condolences to Buck’s shoulder, which fell victim to the hazard of throwing light objects and hard as you can.
Again, this night was full of great people and fantastic stories that will be told forever!

So here we go on our journey. I would imagine that Eva (the sprinter van) will take me to places that I never imagined that I would go!
