A little more about Origins
Now that the first installment of Origins has finally been released and I thought it’d be cool to give some more into the idea behind the concept.

Growing up in SoCal I have always been excited about the rich history that surrounded me every time I climbed anywhere from Rubidoux to Joshua Tree to Mt. Woodson to the Temecula Domes. So many great climbers learned and put up test pieces all throughout the Southern California granite. When Kurt Smith began working for evolv I semi-jokingly told him that he “owed” me a trip across California climbing all his favorite routes and maybe even giving me key beta on the many routes that never saw a 2nd ascent?!

From this the concept of Origins was born. The idea of taking a new school athlete (Chris Lindner) and teaming them up with an iconic figure (Kurt Smith) was something that hadn’t really been done before and with the ability to have some great history and climbing porn it really seemed like the best of both worlds!

We hope you enjoy this first part of Origins and we really look forward to making more! And on that note evolv does have 2 more segments of Origins on the books, one in late May in the high sierras and the other right around August throughout the limestone caves of Utah.
Everything has an Origin…..
