the first post!
after living out of my truck for 2 years chasing waves or rocks and sleeping on the same crashpad that i’d be using the next morning i never thought that i would be a “weekend warrior” but low and behold here i am psyched that it’s Friday! haha there is this massive misconception that working for a rock climbing shoe company will allow you to rock climb 24/7 but the reality is that this is still a business and we still have to make bread! what is cool though is that we get to make a living building a product that allows people to enjoy nature and learn so much about themselves. the events are always super fun, interacting with awesome people and don’t forget the perks of getting to steal away every now and then for “product testing”! =)
speaking of product testing… I’m pretty excited to test out some new rubber ideas on the KaosII tomorrow. heading down to Fallbrook for a belated birthday party with the family and there really is no better rock in all of southern California then right there in my old backyard! that’s where the above photo was taken. temps should be killer in the evening and the surf should be fun in the morning.
also getting geared up for our dealer camp that we have on October 12-13. it’s going to be a BLAST! Icebreaker, Black Diamond, Sterling Ropes and evolv have invited 40 employees from the southern California retailers to join us in Joshua Tree for a couple days of demo’s, rock climbing, campfires and AWESOME food. it’s such a great way for employees to learn about the gear that they sell and to learn about the companies and people behind the product. the goal is to have it be an annual thing and for it to get bigger and bigger!
