Origins and a Merry Christmas!
Last week we met up in Joshua Tree with Kurt Smith and Chris Lindner to see if after 21 years Chris could bag the 2nd known ascent of Kurt’s route on Cap Rock, The Dunce Cap. When Kurt put it up in 1988 he gave it 5.13a/b. Pretty bad-ass for the times and for being in JTree! Thanksgiving recap
So the annual “Buck cooks for everyone that shows up at Tom’s house in Bishop” was on again for the 3rd year in a row! It was an absolute blast this year. The past 2 years have been hit or miss with who has been able to show up whether it was cuz of sickness or travel problems or what have you. Project Mexico and evolv
A few months ago our friend Geoff Bray contacted me to see if evolv could donate any new, old or used climbing shoes to the outreach program he works with , Project Mexico. After talking with him for just a few minutes and hearing about the kick-ass woody he built them  I knew that something as small as a donation of a few pair of shoes would be a gesture that went a LONG way with these boys!...
